    Title of the Project Proposal:

Problem of Water flooding/logging in BIR GHAGHAR.

    Origin/Genesis of the Idea :
The idea of this project came in our mind from daily journey and struggle of the students and citizens of this area specially during rainy season. At school we observed that most of our classmates and friends do not come school and have lots of problem like that of transportation, spread of infectious diseases and many unseen difficulties in Bir Ghaghar area of Panchkula. This led us to think about and find a sustainable solution of this problem

    Background :
Bir Ghaghar frequently experiences severe water flooding and logging, especially during the rainy season, disrupting transportation, farming, medical emergencies, and daily life. The flat terrain and inadequate drainage systems worsen the problem. Recent data and historical trends show that flooding is intensifying, likely due to heavy rainfall and human activities like land use changes. The nature of soil also adds to the problem being fluvial and alluvial type. Students from our school, who also face these issues, have highlighted how the flooding affects their commutation and daily routines. Their firsthand experience and discussions emphasize the urgent need for solutions. Addressing these flooding and retention of water for long duration also invites parasites for breeding and causing many vectors borne diseases.

    Conclusion :

The problem of water flooding and logging in BIR GHAGHAR poses serious challenges for both the environment and the local community. The main reasons for this issue our poor drainage system, heavy rainfall, unplanned construction, and lack of awareness and support from authorities. These elements lead to ongoing water logging, which disrupts farming, harms infrastructure, and poses health risks to the public. To solve this issue, a comprehensive approach is needed: enhancing drainage systems, improving land use practices, and applying effective water management techniques. It`s also essential for the community and local leaders to be involved in making sure these solutions are sustainable. By working together, BIR GHAGHAR can reduce the effect of flooding and build a stronger, more thriving environment for its people.
